The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba And The University of Abuja Celebrate Fidel Castro At 96

Today, August 11, the embassy of Republic of Cuba, Nigeria Movement Of Solidarity With Cuba, Nigerians who studied in Cuba and the entire Nigerian masses are invited to the posthumous birthday celebration of Commandantè Fidel Castro.

The theme of the birthday celebration is: The Life and Times of a Living Legend: Lessons for humanity.

Born Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz, 96 years ago, he with his Comrades including Che Guevara, led a successful revolution that overthrew USA sponsored and backed brutal dictatorship of Gen. Fulgencio Batista.

Commandantè Fidel, a Cuban revolutionary and politician who was the leader Cuba from 1959 to 2008, serving as the prime minister of Cuba from 1959 to 1976 and president from 1976 to 2008.

He enacted sweeping reforms over the almost five decades that he ruled. On the one hand, the changes he implemented provided rural areas with electricity, offered free education and health care to all Cubans, and weeded out racism in his country’s society.

After multiple assassination attempts on him sponsored by USA Government, Commandantè Fidel died of natural causes on 25th November, 2016.
