Residents of Philcruz Estates, Civil Defense Quarters and Somi Estates, Phase iv, Kubwa, are calling on FCT Minister and Bwari Area Council Chairman, to come to their aid and nip in the bud, the emerging army of Almajiris, who are building a save begging heaven at Blessed Chapel Road.
These Almajiris, are found at the speed bump facing Philcruz 1 Junction and connects to Civil Defense Quarters, Philcruz 2, 3 and Somi 1 & 2 Estates.
The residents of these estates inform us that these army, marches from slums in Chikawere, off Arab road, every morning to mount begging sentry at this bump.
They are concerned that this school-going age children, should not be left to the elements and if not attended to, may turn violent and rob unsuspecting users of the road and residents of this estates, who take their children to school everyday.
They also expressed apprehension that these impressionable boys, may be easily radicalized and turn into a sleeping cell of Boko Haram, Bandits or any other sinister terrorist group in the far north seeking entry into FCT, Abuja.
Jubril, a resident of one of the estates, is worried about the feelings of these children, when they see their mates being taken to school in school buses and private cars. He cautioned that this is breeding unhealthy envy, jealousy that may trigger these Almajiris into an uprising against this social inequality.
They call on the FCT Administration, to remove these children from the street, enroll them in formal schools or vocational centers.
