The quarterly Meeting of the MIDWEST BAR FORUM under the leadership of the Chairman Prof. N.A Inegbedion(PhD) held in Warri, Delta State on the 29/10/2022.
The Meeting was hosted by a Nigerian Bar Association Warri Branch.
In attendance were Albert Akpomudje, SAN (Past Chairman of the Forum) Patrick Oganwu,Esq(Past Chairman of the Forum)Augustine Nwabueze Eseagwu, Esq., ACIArb (UK) ( Past Chairman NBA Asaba Branch),A.O. Anigara,Esq (Vice Chairman Asaba Branch)also in attendance were representatives of all the Branches in the zone which include Chairmen of Warri, Effurun, Udu, Oleh, Ekpoma,Ogwashi-Uku Branches and other Members across the Zone.
Apologies were received from the Chairmen of Benin and Auchi Branches.
In his openjng remarks, the Chairman welcomed members to the Meeting and thanked them for their overwhelming support for Y C Maikyau (SAN) at the last NBA presidential election. He also appreciated them for attending the meeting in spite of the hazards of road travel. Thereafter, a minute silence was observed for Ogaga Emoghwanre, former P.R.O of Benin Branch who passed on in August.
The President of the NBA sent his goodwill message delivered by his Senior Special Assistant on Branch matters, Augustine Eseagwu Esq. The President appreciated the support he got from the Forum during his election as President.
Highlights of the meeting included a resolution amending the Forum’s Constitution making the tenure of the Execuive Committee a non- renewable tenure of three years.
