Super Eagles Vs. Black Stars; Nigerians Urge Buhari Not To Attend Or Call The Players

Ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifier between ancient West African rivals, Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Black Stars of Ghana, Nigerians have urged President Buhari to absent himself from the stadium and have no telephone contact with the players.

Voices around Abuja, Kubwa inclusive, accuse President Buhari of bewitching the Eagles at the last African Nations Cup held in Cameroon. The people we spoke to, unanimously agreed that it was the telephone calls President Buhari made that brought bad luck to the players and made them not to progress by losing 1-0 to Tunisia. Nigeria won all its group matches before the call from President Buhari.

Another fear of Nigerians, is that “NEPA” may take light during the game. Maliki said queried if there is diesel in the standby generators at the stadium? He said he would prefer that the entire stadium is ran on generators and let AEDC be on standby.

The match comes up on Tuesday at 6pm local time and it is must win for both teams or one must crash out of the World Cup train.

Last week in Kumasi, Super Eagles held the Black Stars to a barren draw.
