Eze Agala goes home today!
That’s the way of all flesh. Victor was an epitome of what you can call good and free living. In the thick of events, you could count on Victor to be there with you. Victor interfaced with me at several times during his lifetime. The earliest I could remember was when we met at Omoku High Court at the adjournment of our different cases, we drove back together. I was newly married then.
Coincidentally, my wife is of Ogba extraction. So, I decided to drop by at my in-laws’ place at Erema. My mother-in-law hosted us and from there we struck friendship.
We have had so much together. The zenith was when he ran my campaign as Director General in my quest to be Chairman of NBA Port Harcourt Branch. Victor, as an astute Barman ran my campaign with panache and professionalism.
He was such a man! I speak from the point of grief. Victor touched our lives in several ways. He was friendly, gentle and kind. Victor meant so much to different persons. He could be generous, very firm on his beliefs and at other times, a man of compassion. Victor was a man whose presence could not go unnoticed. With his sartorial voice he would announce his appearance. With his hearty laughter you would know that he was around. A man that enlivened anywhere he entered. You must according to Roman Reigns in WWE acknowledge him. He was such a great man.
Papa Ejima!
As we fondly called him. A name he relished most. He was a loving husband, a wonderful father and a true son of Ikwerre land. No wonder he was elected to the prestigious office of Okpo Club worldwide. A post he dutifully and creditably acquainted and acquitted himself with. Agwo turumbe, juju priest, gentle giant, ebullient and vivacious Ezeagala! you left too soon.
That was not the contract you signed with Gloria, you breached it. We summoned you before God to return back with prayers on the day you passed on but unfortunately God dismissed our case.
The ruling was that you are through with mortal man and that your calling is now in heaven.
Gloria grieves for you, the children do, we all do but God knows best.
Adieu my brother.
Rest in peace until we meet to part no more.©️Geoffrey O. A. Joseph, ESQ.
