The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikere-Ekiti Branch is set to distribute her 2024 edition of customized Lawyers’ Diaries to all her financial Members.
The NBA Ikere Ekiti Branch Chairman, Asiwaju Dr. Michael Afolayan, while addressing members of the Branch on Friday in Ado Ekiti said, he took delivery of the Diaries in the evening of Friday, 26th January, 2024.
He informed members that as an improvement over the first edition distributed to members in 2023, the Diary is customized for individuals and all members of NBA Ikere-Ekiti Branch.Afolayan while speaking further on the development, appreciated God Almighty for the privilege given to him to serve as the 5th Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ikere-Ekiti Branch. He said “I equally appreciate God for giving me the vision, strength and the wherewithal to publish the 1st ever NBA Ikere Ekiti Branch Diary in 2023 which was distributed to all members of the Branch. I commend and appreciate the great support of our Grand Patron, Chief Wole Olanipekun, CFR, SAN. I thank our Patroness, HRH Olori (Princess) Olufunmilayo Nejo-Oluyede for her encouragement and support. I humbly thank the ever supportive Attorney General of Ekiti State, Mr. Adedayo Toba Apata, SAN for being there to bail us out at all times. I thank all members of NBA Ikere Ekiti Branch, past Chairmen and Secretaries, Elders, Leaders and Executives, for their support for my leadership and for being ‘the Aaron who lifted the hands of my Moses.’
Although the youngest Branch in Ekiti State, NBA Ikere-Ekiti Branch has grown tremendously, having been officially inaugurated as the 97th Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, by the then NBA President, J.B. Daudu, SAN on the Friday 22nd June, 2012. Since its inauguration, NBA Ikere-Ekiti Branch has with the support of her Benefactors and hardwork of her visionary Leaders, proved that the Branch is a Trailblazer, the fastest growing Branch and the ‘primary platform from which Bar activities are carried out’ in line with the NBA National purpose.Dr. Afolayan further reiterated that his pact with the Branch, as contained in the manifestoes, upon which he was elected Chairman, remains his bond and commitment to the Branch. He said, “My Executive and I will continue to vigorously pursue them and ensure we collectively achieve even more by the special grace of God and your support. This comprehensive Lawyer’s Diary, the second edition of its kind in NBA Ikere-Ekiti Branch is another testimony of my desire to serve and the greatness we can achieve as a Branch. I urge all members to put the Diary to effective use as keeping of records is an hallmark of an effective Lawyering Skill.
There is no doubt that NBA Ikere-Ekiti Branch is a place to be. So, I enjoin Lawyers in Ekiti and diaspora to join us.”
Anthony Adelusi , a member of the NBA Ikere-Ekiti branch, who is also the Financial Secretary of the Young Lawyers Forum of the branch in his remarks and appreciation of the Diary said such gestures can only happen in NBA Ikere-Ekiti Branch-the Branch to beat.
