In the course of my consultation around NBA Branches, this issue keeps coming up.
They ask, Felix, are you sure about what you are telling us? Have you set up a WhatsApp Group; Can we set up one for you? 
You need to appoint a coordinator in our branch and sustain him/her with data to be able to post your flyers here and there. Your mates have all set up WhatsApp Groups and have proxies campaigning for them. If you like no start.
I have skated around these like a teenager with torn skirt. Reasons are simple.
WhatsApp Groups are 89% often made up of same members, being recycled.
I have also met members, who confessed to me that, they are in XYZ’s WhatsApp group out of politeness and do not read or comment on any issue. In a WhatsApp Group of 940+ participants, only about 13 dominate it with unrelated posts.
One told me, don’t add me to any group. It is irritating to be in a group full of bloggers links, with topics not related to law or NBA but just to attract traffic to their blogs and make money from those who click on their link.
Some even add you to a group but restrict it to only Admin can post; so why add me, if you don’t want to interact and get feedbacks that will improve you?
Against these feedbacks from my interactions with members of the Bar, I will not join the bandwagon. I will reach out to you personally to consult or consult with already established groups, with proven record of interactions among colleagues. Furthermore, total member in your WhatsApp group, do not translate to number of loyalists.
In a professional association like the NBA, call to duty and service, should be issue based, capacity and competence to project the best interest of the association in accordance with the provisions of the Association’s Constitution.

Any seeker of office, should be one already accessible to members and not emergency “greeters” and senders of goodwill messages but one who had been faithful in little at Branch level, understands the dynamics of the Bar.
We cannot afford to go on voyage of Bermuda Triangle every election circle.
