The National Judicial Institute (NJI) warmly welcomed the President of the Nigerian Law Society (NLS), Chief Mela Audu Nunghe, SAN, and an eight-member delegation on April 30, 2025. The courtesy visit, which took place at the NJI headquarters, underscored the growing collaboration between the two esteemed institutions in advancing the legal profession.During the meeting, Chief Mela Audu Nunghe, SAN, articulated the NLS’s mission as a professional association committed to upholding the rule of law and contributing to the administration of justice. He emphasized the NLS’s eagerness to explore potential partnerships, joint projects, and legal advocacy initiatives with the NJI, highlighting the mutual benefits such collaborations could yield in shaping the legal landscape.
The Sole Administrator of the NJI, Hon. Justice Salisu G. Abdullahi (Rtd), expressed his gratitude for the NLS leadership’s visit and reaffirmed the NJI’s willingness to work closely with the NLS. Justice Abdullahi emphasized the importance of training judicial officers and shaping the legal profession, noting that the NJI is well-positioned to collaborate with the NLS in achieving these objectives.This meeting marks a significant step toward fostering a stronger relationship between the NJI and the NLS, with both institutions poised to make meaningful contributions to the legal profession in Nigeria.
