The Tinubu I Met

During my 2nd Missionary Journey to acquire a Degree, now LLB, no day was LASU closed by students, without me being actively involved, not knowing of it at least a day before the action was taken.
I led LASU Students Renaissance Movement (LSRM), was never an elected officer of LASU-SUG but no SUG president functioned from Wake-Up to Karl Marx without contending with me & LSRM.

This picture, was taken during our visit to Tinubu.
Management of LASU had withdrawn admission given to some students because they were admitted into LASU with Awaiting Results (AR)
We opposed it, closed down LASU.
The School Authority reopened, we shut it down. No GCE Students, No Resumption.

Governor Ahmed Tinubu summoned LASU SUG led by *Comrade Ayodele Adewale* (With Tinubu’s help, Ayo became two times LGA Chairman of Amuwo Odofin); with Teslim (Samori as Secretary) to his Office. I was part of that delegation.

After hours of this and that, Tinubu aligned with us and told School Authority, If you admitted them with AR, you cannot expel them if they bring GCE results showing the required number of credits.

To us he said, you Comrades, I asked Fatai (our VC then), to open the school and you refused. Let me tell you, I have asked Fatai to reopen the school and you Comrades must make sure that the GCE students get the required Credits before their 3rd year.  I also heard that you student liberate fuels from filling stations in the name of Aluta. That too should stop, filling station owners are also oppressed Nigerians that you seek to liberate.

It was a Friday and he asked if there were Muslims among us. Those who were, were invited to ride with him to the Mosque.
Me and others stayed back, they came back after prayers and we continued the meeting, discussing other areas of developmental importance to LASU. HATE TINUBU OR REFUSE TO VOTE FOR HIM BUT DON’T DENY HIS ROLE IN HISTORY OF LAGOS, NIGERIA AND BIRTH OF RETURN TO DEMOCRACY IN NIGERIA (1999 and still counting.)
