Airline Operators Strike And Need To Digitalize NBA Campaign

It is no longer news that Nigerian airline operators have issued a notice that with effect from Monday, 9th May, they will shut down their operations due to the high cost of aviation fuel which has hit 700 naira per litre.

This shutdown, will affect all facets of life and the closest to me, is its effect on the forthcoming NBA election.

Most NBA politicians, have been flying to all nooks and crannies of the 125 NBA branches, creating awareness that they will contest this or that once ECNBA lifts ban(what is left to unveil or lift?) But with this strike if it lasts a week, most NBA politicians cannot meet up with the numerous Law Weeks lined up by most Branches.

Richard Ayodele Akintunde SAN, Chairman ECNBA

But if NBA electioneering activities are carried out online, the strike will affect nothing. All the NBA electorate needs to do, is to go to 2022 NBA Decides Site and read up on all the candidates, follow them and make up his or her mind, when the time comes.

With this strike, even dare devil roadrunner with a death wish, cannot do Abuja to Sokoto by road or Rivers to Borno.
Although this strike will not last but  it has reinforced my avowed hunger to see a truly digitalized NBA. COVID-19 has shown that we need not to cluster to generate heat and move.

Felix Chukwuma Ashimole, Esq co-publisher of Kubwaexpress, believes in a true digitalized NBA.

We worked remotely and achieved more, why can’t we campaign electronically in NBA? This traversing the poor, high risk Nigerian death traps called Federal roads, in search of a Branch’s program to attend, should be discouraged.
