The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), in its weather alert, has forecast that temperature in FCT Abuja, will be between 35°C and 40°C in the next couple of days.
To prevent the harsh effect of this extreme condition, NiMet Director General, Prof. Mansur Matazu, has urged people in the states expected to witness this rise in temperature, to drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration in order to cope and stay safe during the harsh temperature.
The agency also advises against leaving humans or animals in cars for long, especially young children and rather to stay in the shade such as trees, and wear light and bright clothing.
Other states expected to record high temperature include; Nasarawa, Kwara, Kogi, Taraba and Benue.
