Battle of African Eagles, who bites the dust?

Super Eagles of Nigeria and Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, will trade tackles today in the second match of the quarter finals of AFCON 2022.

Both eagles have met each other 20 times in all competitions, with each team holding six victories while the remaining eight fixtures ended in draws.

Time of the match is 7pm GMT at Roumde Adija stadium, Garoua.

The first time the two nations met at AFCON, was in Ghana 1978. Tunisia left the field of play, blaming poor officiating after Nigeria scored. CAF awarded two goals and victory to Nigeria.

They met again in AFCON 2000, Nigeria co-hosted with Ghana. Nigeria won 4-2.

In 2004 AFCON hosted by Tunisia, Tunisia won 5-3 on penalties to advance into the final.

2006 AFCON hosted by Egypt, ended in penalties. Nigeria revenged the defeat of 2004.

The last time they met was at AFCON 2019, over 3rd place match , which ended 1-0 in favor of Nigeria.
