In a goodwill message sent to Midwest Bar Forum meeting today in Benin, Felix Chukwuma Ashimole, the disqualified candidate for the office of Publicity Secretary, has urged members of the forum, to bury their differences and throw their support behind Ogaga Emoghwanre, Esq.
According to Mr. Ashimole, it is regrettable that a professional association like NBA will dwell heavily on region of birth instead of place of practice when determining who is eligible from which zone to contest.
Lawyers should benefit from whatever is available to the zone where she practices and pays her local branch dues.
Against this unprogressive constitutionalized posture by NBA, which is encouraging balkanization of NBA along ethnic lines, Mr. Ashimole calls on Midwest Bar Forum to support Ogaga, Esq and other candidates who are natives of Midwest Bar.
He said that this unity is necessary as Adegbite Esq, enjoys the monopoly of South West zone as the only Yoruba candidate vying for the office of General Secretary, while Midwest Bar, has 3 candidates scavenging for votes.
