TRIBUTE TO ASIWAJU A.S. AWOMOLO, SAN, (LIFE BENCHER) Outgoing Chairman, Body of Benchers of Nigeria.

It is a rare privilege to join colleagues, friends, family, and well-wishers in celebrating
Asiwaju A.S. Awomolo, SAN, (Life Bencher), a quintessential bar leader of excellent repute, on the successful completion of his tenure as the 52nd Chairman of the Body of Benchers.
I cherish the professional, personal and social relationship I enjoyed with Chief Awomolo, SAN who has demonstrated great qualities of integrity, candour, and professionalism, earning my highest respect. His leadership skills, calm spirit, honesty, humility, tolerance and understanding that everyone matters have made his tenure truly remarkable.Chief Awomolo’s humility and respect for the rule of law have been the hallmarks of his tenure.
His commitment to upholding the rules of professional conduct and enforcing discipline has been unwavering.
During his tenure, he inducted eight (8) distinguished members as Life Benchers and twenty-one (21) as Benchers, being the first in the history of the Body of Benchers.

He also effectively collaborated with the Council of Legal Education to regulate legal training standards and mentored young lawyers.
He created a museum and archives of the BOB thereby challenging other institutions in the judicial arm of government to emulate same and preserve history for the unborn generations.
It is under his able leadership that an Electronic state-of-the-art recording system/facility was commissioned to aide, fast track, eliminate the stress of long- hand writing at the Legal Practitioner Disciplinary Committee (LPDC).
The Innovation of the BOB annual lecture and presentation of the Law report of directions of the LPDC for the first time are credited to your visionary leadership.
Chief Awomolo has raised the standard of the legal profession, serving with humility and distinction. His stewardship will forever be reckoned with by generations to come.
I
celebrate him, wish him long life and prosperity for he has indeed paid his rent for the room he now occupies.
