Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) Abuja in partnership with Better Community Life Initiative (BECOLIN) Owerri, will hold a Discussion Forum on election security in Nigeria and particularly in Imo State.
Date Wednesday 13th September, 2023.
In build up to the 2023 general elections in February and March, CISLAC and BECOLIN implemented interventions that were geared toward a peaceful outcome of the 2023 election. Those interventions highlighted engagements with a wide range of stakeholders and contributed significantly to the measure of peace recorded in the state through out the election.
As Imo state prepares for the governorship election this November, CISLAC and BECOLIN consider this period a critical time to discuss with frontline election actors how to better understand the situation from the perspective of frontline experiences as we prepare to advance advocacy towards improved election security in the state and country at large.
The Forum is designed to be an interface for collaborative dialogue that will enable civil society to improve advocacy in this regard.
