He needs no introduction in the Civil Society Community. He is a rich reservoir of knowledge, a down to earth friend of all, a ready available resource material, so much a household personality that he is known just as Comrade Otive.
Born on September 5th, 60 years ago, Dr. Otive Igbuzor, is a pharmacist, versatile writer, researcher and author of several publications; the founding Executive Director of the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD).
A former lecturer at the Delta State University, Lagos Centre, he has published many scholarly articles on democracy, gender, politics and development. He was once the International Head of campaigns of ActionAid International and Country Director of ActionAid Nigeria and was a Commissioner in the Police Service Commission (PSC).
Besides, he was a Programme Co-ordinator of Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), an independent research, information and training institution dedicated to policy oriented scholarship on questions of democratic development and peace building in the West African sub-region.
He is an activist-warrior, who walks off testbooks, to practice what he preaches. And this commitment to getting involved, made him accept the appointment to serve as Chief of Staff to the immediate past Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege.
Despite all these, Comrade Otive, is a man of God, with proven compassion for the poor, less privileged and downtrodden, wretched of Nigerian society. He is a role model, a beacon of hope, a scion of Truth, an emblem of integrity and an incontrovertible guiding light to young cadres in Nigerian Civil Society space.
In 2016, Comrade Otive, took a dive into full time ministry and established The Palace of PRIESTS ASSEMBLY, to empower people to live as Kings and Priests in this end time (Rev 1:6; Rev 5:10). The ministry intends to build the church by building members that know their calling and are able to make the ministry fulfill its mission.
Comrade Otive, is happily married to Ejiro, who holds a PhD in Microbiology (Majored in TB-HIV Co-Infection). Their blissful union, is blessed with children.
