My VC,
I left LASU in 2001.
Interestingly, I was in the Faculty of Law and managed with my teeth and bruised knees, to scale through with a Second Class Lower (Hon).
I needed to state the above, for you to appreciate my joy, excitement at the news of this uncommon feat from my LASU sister, Aminat Yusuf. It is by no stretch of imagination a fluke or easy feat. CGP of 5.0, in Faculty of Law no be beans!!!!I congratulate Aminat Yusuf on her academic feat and placing LASU Ojo on the global academic map. My VC, I am also thrilled at the N500,000 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira) Only reward announced by you, to be given to her. Well done, Madam Vice Chancellor but….
Madam VC, Aminat, should not be allowed to go to Law School yet but groomed as a scholar, channeled to obtaining her PHD in record time before proceeding to Law School.
Experience has shown that many budding intellectuals, get called to the Bar and lose steam-where are those who made 1st Class, 2nd Class Upper in their universities and proceeded to Law School? Are they in any university impacting knowledge to the next generation?
Madam VC, I plead with you and LASU Senate to award Aminat a scholarship to PHD during the Convocation ceremony, before a foreign university poaches her and we lose another brain. Furthermore my VC, her scholarship should come with a lecturing job in the Faculty of Law LASU, as an icing before a multinational company employs her, put her under head of legal department that made a Pass in Law School! •I, Felix Ashimole, Esq., LASUITE, Co-publisher, Kubwaexpress, wish to also congratulate you, for these feats performed under your leadership. You are a true leader, a caring mother that nursed not only these 282 first class LASUITES, you also provided conducive atmosphere for the lecturers and non-academic staff, to give their best in service to LASU & LASUITES.
