We are in receipt of a petition by a group claiming to be Chinyere Moneme Campaign Campaign Committee (CMCC). A press release signed by Fatima Abdulmalik, Esq. who claims to be Secretary of CMCC.
If you recall, a petition challenging eligibility of Chinyere Moneme to contest for the office of the Secretary NBA Bwari was written by Caleb Owowo, praying that Chinyere Moneme was not duly nominated as her nominators are not from the same zone as she is and there was a further allegation that she did not pay her 2021 BPF as a member of NBA Bwari.
The petition by CMCC reads in part, “In view of the allegations of fraud, forgery and manipulation of the Branch’s Monthly Meeting Attendance Lists which led to the production of the NBA Bwari Provisional List of Eligible Voters released by the Electoral Committee, it has become necessary to inform our supporters as follows:
a. That the CMCC has instructed its legal team to file a petition at the FCT Police Command, calling for an investigation of the allegations of fraud, forgery and manipulation of the said attendance list;
b. That in view of the foregoing, the CMCC hereby discontinues all its campaign activities, pending the investigation of the petition.”
