Former The Nation Newspaper’s Legal Editor, John Austin Unachukwu, Esq., has been appointed the Chairman 2023 NBA AGC Sub Committee on Media & Publicity.
Ms. Theodora Kio-Lawson is the Alternate Chair of the Sub-Committee while Ms. Naomi Bankyu, is the Secretary.
Oyinkan Badejo-Okusanya, Esq., Alternate Chair of the AGC, made this announcement.
John Austin as popularly known within NBA circle, was National Publicity Secretary of the Bar 2016-2018 under the presidency of AB Mahmoud SAN. He tenaciously fought for his mandate after the electoral committee headed by Ken Mozia SAN disqualified him over discrepancies with his name; John Austin Unachukwu and John Echezona Unachukwu.
His inclusion in the current AGC structure, according to NBA pundits, is a clear indication that the AGC Committee Chairman, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN is healing wounds and is a man with large heart.
John Austin was disqualified to contest for Publicity Secretary when Mazi Afam Osigwe (as he then was), was the General Secretary of the NBA.
John Austin Unachukwu, is a graduate of Lagos State University Ojo (LASU).
He is an active bar man and a resourceful media and intellectual property lawyer.
