The history of Kubwa Express News, will be incompletely told, if Afam Josiah Osigwe, SAN, popularly called Mazi, is not mentioned. He was one of the early supporters of the new vision to birth Kubwa Express News. His support was both intellectual and financial. The first mass produced copy of Kubwa Express in 2010, would have vied off the road temporarily without his support.
Sir, Afam Josiah Osigwe, SAN, (Mazi), is a humble, accessible, charming, ambitious, amiable, charismatic, resourceful intelligent, generous man. But do not be deceived, he can bite as deep as his infectious trademark smile and also forgives easily.
Afam Osigwe, SAN, who hails from Nnewi, was born on the 25th of October 1972.
He attended Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha for his secondary education. He obtained his LLB in 1997 from University of Nigeria Enugu Campus and was called to the Bar in September, 1999.
Afam Osigwe holds a University of Jos Master of Laws Degree (LL.M) which he obtained in 2010.
He also holds another Master of Laws (LLM) degree in (Transnational Commercial Practice) from the Centre for International Legal Studies, Austria (in collaboration with the Lazarsky University, Poland).
In 2020 having been found worthy by the Privilege Committee to have met the requirements, Afam Osigwe was awarded the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN)
Afam Osigwe is a Life Bencher, a devout knight of the Anglican Church, a former General Secretary of the NBA, former Branch Chairman of NBA Abuja Branch.
He is a private family man, happily married with children.
