One of the attempts to resolve the lingering crisis in this newly created Branch by the YC Maikyau led administration, was to set up a 5 Man Electoral Committee.
The Committee was given one month to conduct and deliver an Executive Committee for the embattled Branch.

The meeting was adjourned to the next six days due to inability of all parties to agree on which list will be used as voters list to conduct the Election.
The Committee had its list which it claimed was given to it by NBA National Secretariat. Bololo and Magnus both came with different lists.
Observers of the crisis in the Branch, wonder why the issue of membership list would be a thorny issue?
From the tone of the letter by the GS setting up the 5 Man Committee headed by Steve Emelieze, it was obvious that the Committee’s mandate was dead on arrival. His letter was to the effect that the Committee should conduct election for Nyanya-Karu Lawyers Forum, as against NBA Nyanya-Karu Branch. It was on the strength of this that the Committee is relying on the list submitted by the Forum when they applied to the NBA, to be considered fit as a Branch.
But since June 9, 2022, the Forum has ceased to exist and a full Branch is born, recognized by NEC and is included in the list of Branches for the payment of BPF.
Why is NBA Secretariat afraid of conducting election in line with the provisions of the Bylaw, particularly on the issue of eligibility to vote in a Branch’s election?
One month, is too short to do justice to the crux of the crisis in the Branch.
BPF is being paid and will still be till 31st Day of March. Will heavens fall and Satan repent, if the Election is done in June, using list of those that paid BPF for 2023 and ticked Nyanya-Karu Branch as well as paid local dues into the account maintained by Nyanya-Karu Branch?
Relying on the list submitted for application by a Forum to conduct election, will occasion injustice, be of advantage to one fraction. Furthermore, most of those whose names appeared on the Forum Application list, have moved to Garki Branch(At the time of Nyanya-Karu Lawyers Forum, there was no Garki and most members were attending the Forum’s meeting because of the crisis in Unity Bar.)
We call on YC Maikyau, OON, SAN the 31st NBA President, to avoid deepening the crisis by varying the mandate of the Steven Emelieze 5 Man Committee and extend their time of delivery to June 2023 and let the payment of 2023 BPF be the condition to participate, vote and be voted for in Nyanya-Karu Branch’s Election.
