Armed Forces Remembrance Day 2023

Often once Armed Forces Remembrance Day is mentioned, the event of January 15, 1966 is down played but that of July 1966 celebrated.
Emphasis are then laid on 1967-1970, to honor those who died trying to keep Nigeria one.
1967-1970 is the only period Nigerian Army (has) been tested.
Ever since those years, Nigerian Army has been instrument of oppression against civilians, setting us back with successive successful coup, the present being worse than the processor it overthrew.
Between 1999 to date, the might of Nigerian Armed Force is constantly ”tasted” by Boko Haram and she is poorly tasting and in most times, beaten by rag-tag Boko Haram.
While they are receiving bashing in North East, the Nigerian Armed Forces is waxing strong with brutality among civilians in the South East.
They deliberately provoke the citizens of South East, to justify their brutality and indiscriminate bloodletting and murder of innocent civilians.
Before South East caught their fancy, oil rich South-South, was their hunting ground.
They were bloodied and pulled out with their tails in between their legs.
Despite these failures and haven’t engaged any external enemy-be it Cameroon on the South East, Benin on the West, Niger-Chad on the North, the Nigerian Armed Forces have lost officers and men to internal insurgents.
These fallen soldiers should be honored for their bravery and gallantry while still urging those alive and serving, to serve with civility.
We also pray to next of kin, testators and testatrix of the last testament of these fallen heroes, to make sure that the children of these soldiers are given the best their fathers gratitude, death allowance can achieve.
Finally we pray that the C-in-C whom this will be his last wreath laying for our gallant soldiers, will commandeer that, all children of primary-secondary age of any soldier who died in active service, be given tuition free scholarship in any Command Secondary School of his or her choice.
By taking care of those our fallen heroes left behind, is the only way that ”labours of our heroes past, shall never be in vain.”
Happy Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
