The President particularly apologized to the family of Gafaru Buraimoh on behalf of Nigeria and the legal profession. He noted that we are where we are as a nation because the legal profession which is originally gratuitous has abdicated her primary duties of ensuring justice and fairness in pursuit of monetary gains.
He questioned the benefits of money if the society is unsafe to enjoy it? He noted that every life is sacred and sacrosanct and that the life of Gafaru Buraimoh was as important to the NBA as the life of Bolanle Raheem,Esq. He then promised that the NBA under his administration would rise up to the challenge of preserving the rule of law in Nigeria without any sort of discrimination.
The father of the late Gafaru Buraimoh while responding on behalf of the family expressed his gratitude to the NBA for providing responsible leadership and for associating with them at this critical moment.
