Thank You, Prof. Foluke Dada — For Putting Women First

Last weekend at the Egbe Amofin Oodua Women’s Summit in Ibadan, history was made! Prof. Foluke Dada publicly stepped down as a presidential aspirant for the NBA National Election 2026 leaving only one female aspirant in the race. This is a bold, sacrificial move that puts the future of women’s leadership in the NBA firmly in the spotlight.
Her decision is not just an announcement. It is a bold statement, a bold shift, and a bold moment.
Prof. Dada has once again actively championed female leadership within the NBA and reminded us all that if we want gender parity, we must practise it. By stepping aside, Prof. Foluke Dada has opened the door for a unified, powerful force behind the only woman left in the presidential race – the formidable Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN. A leader whose moment has truly arrived.
Dear Prof. Dada, we thank you for your bold and selfless step.
THANK YOU FOR PLACING WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT ABOVE PERSONAL AMBITION.
Thank you for making Nigerian female lawyers stand BOLDER, STRONGER and UNITED for an inclusive Bar.
Your courage and selflessness has sparked a rennaissance across the entire NBA, not just the South West and  we salute you.
This is what leadership looks like.
This is how women support women.
This is how history is made.
