It gives me great pleasure to felicitate with the Leadership and Members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Akure Branch (Sunshine Bar) on the occasion of her 2025 Annual Law Week with the theme ‘Nigeria: Quest for Utilitarian Judiciary and Roles of Stakeholders.’
At this defining moment in our nation’s history, the theme for this year’s Bar Week is not only germane but also challenges us to interrogate the utilitarian value of our justice system and to have accountable stakeholders. This theme will also inspire us to move beyond speeches and symbolism to a renewed commitment to the ethical, courageous and people centered practice of law.
NBA Akure Branch has over the years demonstrated steadfast dedication to professional development and the rule of law. I congratulate the Chairman of the NBA Akure Branch, Onimisi Umar, Esq., the Chairman of the Law Week Planning Committee, Dayo Akinlaja, SAN and members of the Sunshine Bar for this Law Week.
May this Law Week rekindle our shared responsibility to make justice more than a slogan, but a lived reality with utilitarian value for the governed.
