As we mark *NIGERIA’S 65TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY,* we look forward with hope to a strengthened democracy and a nation where no man is oppressed.
Today, as we ponder the efforts of our founding fathers to the NIGERIA PROJECT – the unchequered courage, resilience, unity of purpose and persevering commitment, we are called upon by voices of conscience – reminded of the yet unaccomplished task of building a Nation anchored on justice, unity in diversity, peace and prosperity. 
As lawyers and crusaders for social justice, let us rise in unison in our respective roles to strengthen our democracy, uphold the rule of law, and work together to bequeath a nation worth the sacrifices of our heroes past and the aspirations of generations yet unborn.
