The Federal Government has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, a public holiday to commemorate Eid-ul-Mawlid, the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
In a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on behalf of the Minister, the government congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, urging them to reflect on the Prophet’s exemplary virtues of peace, love, humility, tolerance, and compassion.On this occasion, we call on Nigerians of all faiths to pray for peace, security, and stability in the country, while supporting the government’s efforts toward unity and development,” the statement read.
The Minister of Interior further wished Muslims a joyous and peaceful Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration, encouraging the faithful to use the season to strengthen communal harmony and national cohesion.
