Ulonna Nwannem,
Your parents gave me a gift
Long long before I met them,
Beautiful you.
Prof. held you to his chest and called you his home A place so pure he beamed in true pride
A fortress of salvation and blessings
nurturing many with expensive grace

Great Place, Great Place
You welcomed many hearts
Many tourists, many lessons
Many sisters Many friends
We swear by your love
That we are luckier
As we twirl in grief
As we twirl in gratitude

For your life so well spent
We celebrate we venerate
Thank you Ulonna for helping many become
For the love you generously shared
And the hearts you gracefully healed,
Thank you.

For the countless times you held my broken body
And loved my confused mind back to sanity
Thank you Great Place
For guiding me through life’s wildernesses
And being my home in many lonely seasons

And now Ulonna
You are the Place I think of and cry
You are the Place I think of and smile
The sky for many rising suns.
Rest sweet my friend
