Asagba Of Asaba Receives Bar Leaders.

Yesterday, 12th October 2024, I, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, had the honor of leading a delegation of Bar leaders to visit His Royal Majesty, Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN, to pay homage on the occasion of his well-deserved coronation as the 14th Asagba of Asaba.
Prof. Azinge’s ascension to the throne is not only a momentous event for the people of Asaba, but also a testament to his extraordinary wisdom, integrity, and lifelong commitment to the pursuit of justice and service to humanity.
Throughout his illustrious career, particularly as the Director General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, His Royal Majesty demonstrated an unwavering dedication to the rule of law and the advancement of scholarship, making him the ideal choice for this revered royal stool.
I am confident that his reign will usher in a new era of peace, prosperity, and progress for Ndi Ahaba, Asaba, Delta State, and Nigeria as a whole.
During the visit, we also had the privilege of paying homage to Her Royal Majesty, Nne Agu, Valerie Azinge, SAN, who offered kind words and valuable exhortations for the profession and its members.I am grateful to the following Bar leaders: Chike Onyemenam, SAN, High Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, Sammie Somiari, SAN, Andrew Odum, SAN, Afam K. Nmah, Esq., G. A. I. Mowah, Esq., Chukwuma Oseyenim, Esq., and the Chairman of NBA Asaba Branch, Azuka Maduemezia, Esq., who led past and present Branch Chairmen from Anambra and Asaba, as well as members of his executive committee, and the leadership of FIDA in his Branch, to accompany me in paying homage to His Royal Majesty.
We pray that His Royal Majesty’s tenure on the throne of his forebears will continue to inspire unity, justice, and development while preserving the rich traditions of the Asagba institution.
May the reign of His Royal Majesty, Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN, be long, fruitful, and blessed with divine wisdom.
