Dear Distinguished Colleagues,
It is with joyful pleasure that I wish you a Happy Independence.
It has been a long walk of 64 years of unsteady steps towards nation building.
We have in these years, had cause to celebrate as a nation.
It is not yet uhuru, but steadily, with faith in God and patriotic commitment to being our brothers’ keeper, we will arrive at our destination as ordained by God and fought for by the founding fathers of independent Nigeria.
It is on behalf of my firm, my family and I that I express our heartfelt congratulations to all Nigerians as we celebrate the 64th anniversary of our nation’s independence.
It is heartwarming that this Independence Day comes a day after the Supreme Court commenced the 2024-2025 Legal year, with the conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) on 87 of our colleagues.
I pray that as Nigeria steps into a new year, may all our colleagues, prosper in this new legal year. May we all be independent of all that might have held us down in the previous years, hindering the maximization of our potentials in our legal practice.
Let us celebrate our independence with hope of a better tomorrow which can only be born, if we commit to building it today.
