As part of the litany to mark the prestigious conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria on Paul Babatunde Daudu, Esq., footballers in NBA Bwari organised a novelty football match.
The football match took place on Saturday, 28th September, 2024 between JB Daudu & Co. FC and NBA Bwari FC. Interestingly, it was a family affair as Paul Babatunde Daudu, Esq., is a staff of JB Daudu & Co and Chairman of NBA Bwari (Cradle Bar).
To break this tie and remove any shadow of bias, the organisers, sort and found a man of proven integrity, a leader among men and a mentor looked up to my teeming young lawyers, in the person of Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, to be the Match Commissioner.
The Learned Silk, a man of exquisite taste and stickler for details, left no stone unturned to make sure that the officiating, made the best FIFA standards.
After the kickoff by Are Olumuyiwa Akinboro SAN, Hell was let loose and both teams, displayed artistry of the round leather game that will make any EPL prayer wish he was a lawyer.
The thrilling encounter, ended 6 beautiful goals apiece after NBA Bwari FC, through their Team Manager, E.I.Nwude, Esq., the oldest player on the field, drew the first blood, with a solo run that left JB Daudu FC youngsters dazed.
The climax of the novelty match, was the presentation of Leadership Award to Paul Babatunde Daudu, Esq., by The Commitee Members of the Novelty Match.
Learned Silk, Aare, Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN one time General Secretary of NBA and former Chairman NBA Abuja (Unity Bar), was unanimously called upon by the players, to hand their award to Paul Daudu, Esq.
During his remarks, the Learned Silk prayed that as the footballers have honored Paul, they too, will be honored in all legitimate endeavours they set their minds and hands to do within the legal profession.
