The Abdul Atadoga Ibrahim SAN, led NBA Branch Elections Appeal Committee (North), unanimously upheld and affirmed the election of NBA Biu Branch, held on 28th June, 2024; giving clean bill of health to all the elected officers, to be sworn in, have access to all paraphernalia of their respective offices and pilot the affairs of Biu Branch devoid of any encumbrances for the next two years.
The Committee has carefully considered the petition and the responses as well as the various documents attached to the processes.
1. The allegation of the Petitioner that the branch failed to comply with the statutory requirement of the NBA Constitution when the Branch Chairman constituted and ushered in new executive committee of the branch without knowledge and consent of the financial members was not proved.
2. This Committee hereby holds that Nigeria Bar Association Biu Branch election conducted on 28th June 2024 was conducted in compliance with the Constitution.
3. The petition lacks merit and it is hereby dismissed and the return by the Electoral Committee for the offices of NBA Biu Branch is hereby affirmed.
