In a move pundits likened to tit for tat, the RG of Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), has approached the Attorney General, seeking a Fiat to prosecute the unregistered trustees of Nigerian Law Society (NLS)
The Chairman Board of Trustee of NLS, Chief Bolaji Ayorinda SAN had written the RG of CAC Mr. Hussani Ishaq Magaji SAN,, on 12th August, asking that, “ if the retraction sought in paragraph 8 herein is not complied with within 7 days of your receipt of this letter, I will have no choice but to instruct Counsel to proceed to Court and compel you to carry out the retraction. Furthermore, I shall seek monetary damages from you and the Corporate Affairs Commission jointly and severally in the sum of =N=5 Billion Naira.”
In a classic You Tarka Me, I Daboh You move, the RG has approached the AG to seek, “Apart from general Fiat, I also specifically request for consent to prosecute Trustees of the Nigerian Law Society who have commenced operational activities without registration in direct violation of section 863 (2) of the Companies and Allied Matter Act, 2020.
