We have fallen the elephant and both the hunters and those who refused to hunt, those who were sceptical, have come out with long knives to carve out chunks of meat.

The humble ones, want to be contented with the tail of the elephant or the dung excreted before the elephant jerked its last.
Like the story of the four blind men describing an elephant, all who feel they have a say in the emerging NBA Executive, have a right.
All I can say is, be contented with the piece of meat that reaches you.
You will not get the chuck you think you deserve but you will still get a piece of elephant meat, after all, the piece of brown paper used to wrap salt, is also salt.
Make the best out of the piece you will get, no Committee members or co-opted membership of NBA is better or belittling in the service of the Bar-if you truly want to serve and help Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN’s Exco achieve all the lofty ideals of a PROACTIVE BAR.
Without making excuses for Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN; let me state, it is the duty of a Prince to be rebellious, instigate riot but once he is a King, the weight of the crown, will make him a conservative.
Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe, although his hands would not be tied, know that, Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe, the candidate, is not the same as NBA-President elect and definitely, will not be the same person as the 32nd President of NBA once he is sworn in after AGM in Lagos.
Will he still sit fire? He will now chew his words before spiting.
But I know he will encourage all lawyers to be courageous, spit and eat fire; be a thorn in the flesh of any institution that seeks to disrespect or abuse any lawyer. Under Mazi’s administration, the dignity of NBA, will be restored. I know that the content of PROACTIVE BAR Manifesto, SHALL be fulfilled.
Mazi will prioritise the welfare and security of lawyers.
Like a child sent to steal by his father, Afam will stand by you, if you use two legs to break any door that stands in opposition to the fulfilment of the clauses and spirit of a PROACTIVE BAR under his watch.
The only word of caution, make sure you are breaking the doors legitimately and in accordance with the cherished motto of NBA-Promoting The Rule of Law.
Against this backdrop, I urge you, as we share the elephant meat and cut ourselves scrambling for a juicy part, let us get a copy of his Manifesto and figure out, in which area, can we best fit in, to render service to the Bar.
