I am Bartholomew Aguegbodo, a native of Nando in the Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra state.
I graduated from the prestigious University of Lagos (UNILAG) in 1999, thereafter, I proceeded to the Abuja Campus of the Nigeria Law School in 2000 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2001.
I am a full-time legal practitioner with a special bias for civil and criminal matters and have carried on my practice successfully as the principal partner of B. Aguegbodo & Co. in Lagos for over 22 years.
With a burning passion to build a bar that works for all, I have served at different times to actualize this.
As Chairman of, Nigerian Bar Association, Ikeja Branch between 2020 – 2022, I Started and completed the building of a lounge at the branch secretariat during my administration, bought a brand-new Toyota Hiace bus for the branch, took active steps that dissipated the fractional fracas in the branch and brought about the peace that the branch now enjoys; between 2014 – 2016,
I was a member of the Court Monitoring Committee of the Ikeja branch of the NBA; Chairman, of the NBA Ikeja Conference Committee for the Annual General Conference 2016.
Owing to my zeal and drive for human rights advocacy, I was a member of the Human Rights Committee, NBA Ikeja branch from 2018 – 2020.
I have a strong interest in human rights initiatives. I have a strong passion for dedicating my time and efforts towards bringing about significant and constructive changes within the NBA, especially concerning the general well-being and interests of its members.
Because of this, and following careful consideration, I, Bartholomew Aguegbodo, humbly Submit my candidacy for the position of First Vice President of our esteemed organization, the Nigerian Bar Association.
As your first Vice President, with a profound dedication to the principles of justice, integrity, and professionalism, I pledge to: contribute to and spearhead initiatives that will address some of the problems the Bar is facing.
In my desire to serve as the First Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association, I am guided by a steadfast commitment to serve the interests of the legal profession and the broader society.
Together, let us work tirelessly to uphold the rule of law, promote access to justice, and advance the cause of justice and equality for all Nigerians.
With your support and trust, we can build a more inclusive, ethical, and resilient legal profession that serves as a beacon of hope and progress for generations to come.
