Justice Abiola Soladoye of the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Lagos, has sentenced Essien Aniedi-Bassey, a 32-year-old student, to 21 years in Correctional Centre attempting to sexually assault a 10-year-old girl. The offence contravened Sections 135 and 262 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, (2015).
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), 
Aniedi-Bassey pleaded guilty to charges of attempted sexual assault by penetration and indecently touching the child’s breasts.
The Prosecutor, Mrs. Abimbola Abolade told the court that the convict committed the offence sometimes in August 2017 on Araromi Valley Estate in Ojodu, Lagos.
