The International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), arose from its NEC Meeting in Kano, with a resounding resolution to adopt Zainab Aminu Garba as its candidate for the office of 3rd Vice President, on the forthcoming NBA Election, scheduled to hold on 20th July, 2024.
FIDA urges all members, to leave no stone unturned, to actualise the spirit of this resolution.
Esteemed Members of the Nigerian Bar Association,
it is with great humility and dedication that I stand before you as a candidate for the esteemed position of Third Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association. My name is Zainab Aminu Garba, Esq., and I am committed to advancing the interests of our Association while upholding the principles of integrity, inclusivity, and excellence. If entrusted with the responsibility of Third Vice President, I am committed to fulfilling the duties outlined in the Constitution with utmost diligence and dedication.
I understand the importance of this role in ensuring the effective functioning of our Association and in representing the diverse needs and concerns of our members.
Presiding at Meetings:
As Third Vice President, I recognize the significance of presiding over meetings in the absence of the President, 1st Vice President, and 2nd Vice President.
I am committed to fostering an environment of open dialogue, mutual respect, and collaboration during these sessions.
I will ensure that all members have the opportunity to voice their opinions and contribute to meaningful discussions, thereby promoting transparency and inclusivity within our Association.
Coordination of Branch Activities:
I understand the importance of coordinating the activities of the branches within my assigned jurisdiction. I will work closely with branch leaders to understand their needs and concerns and provide support and guidance as necessary. Through regular communication and engagement, I aim to foster strong relationships with branches across the country and promote collaboration and unity within our Association.
Encouragement of New Branch Formation:
I am committed to encouraging and supporting the formation of new branches within my zonal supervisory jurisdiction.
I recognize the importance of expanding our Association’s reach and ensuring that all regions have adequate representation and support.
I will work tirelessly to provide guidance and assistance to aspiring branch leaders, helping them navigate the formation process and adhere to the guidelines set out in our Constitution.
Adherence to Directives:
In addition to the specific duties outlined in the Constitution, I pledge to perform all other duties as directed by the President, National Executive Committee, or Annual General Meeting. I will approach these responsibilities with professionalism and dedication, always keeping the best interests of our Association and its members at the forefront of my actions.
Preservation of Institutional Integrity:
Finally, I am committed to upholding the integrity and reputation of our Association. I will work tirelessly to promote a culture of excellence, transparency, and accountability within our Association.
Together, let us strive to uphold the values of justice, fairness, and equality that define our noble profession.
In conclusion, I humbly ask for your support and trust as I seek to serve as your Third Vice President.
