The theme of this year’s event, “Law As A Tool For Economic Advancement And National Security,” is both timely and significant, reflecting the critical role that our profession plays in shaping the economic and security landscape of our nation.
As we gather at the Ceremonial Court Hall, High Court of Justice, Benin City, Edo State, from the 24th to 28th of June, 2024, we are reminded of our collective responsibility to uphold the rule of law, promote justice, and contribute to the socio-economic development of Nigeria.
This theme underscores the dual function of the law in not only ensuring justice and order but also in fostering a conducive environment for economic growth and safeguarding our national security. The legal profession is uniquely positioned to influence policies, advocate for reforms, and implement strategies that can drive economic progress and enhance security measures. Our engagement in these areas is crucial for the realization of a prosperous and secure nation.
The discussions, presentations, and interactions during this Law Week are bound to yield insights and solutions that will benefit our society at large.
