Meet Dr. Olukayode Abraham Anifowoshe Ajulo, OON, SAN

Dr. Olukayode Abraham Anifowoshe Ajulo, OON, is renowned for his extensive legal expertise and unwavering commitment to advocacy across various domains, including litigation, arbitrations, constitutional law, corporate and commercial law, and human rights.
He obtained his first law degree, LL.B. (Hons.), from the University of Jos in Nigeria, call to the Bar in 2001 and further pursued several post graduate studies and executives courses at esteemed local and international institutions, his doctoral thesis is on Nigerian Worker, Social Justice & Corporate Responsibility. Ajulo also honed his arbitration skill with Diploma in International Commercial arbitration from the University of Oxford, England. Dr. Ajulo began his legal career as a State Counsel/Federal Attorney at the Federal Ministry of Justice in Abuja.
In 2006, Dr. Ajulo founded Kayode Ajulo & Co. Castle of Law, a prestigious boutique law firm in Nigeria that has expanded its presence to the UK, Ghana, and the Gambia. He is a Notary Public and Fellow of the esteemed Chartered Institutes of Arbitrators in the United Kingdom.Additionally, he volunteered his services as visiting professor/adjunct law lecturer at several universities, including Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, which is located in his home state, Ondo State.
Dr Ajulo’s expertise extends far and wide, as he offers his noble professional services to those in need, renowned for “defending the poor while managing the rich”within the realms of local and international jurisdictions.
Beyond his legal practice, Dr. Ajulo serves on the boards of numerous local and foreign companies and NGOs. He is a prolific writer, having authored several publications, and an orator and a renowned public speaker who has delivered countless lectures and presentations on legal and socio-political matters.
Dr. Ajulo has held significant positions, including serving as the National Secretary of the Labour Party, Special Advisor to various government and as the Board Chairman of the Ondo State Radio-Vision Corporation.Throughout his career, he has demonstrated unwavering dedication and commitment to serving the legal profession, the nation, Africa, and humanity as a whole.
Dr. Ajulo is a passionate and celebrated lover of classical music. He is also a devoted church servant, currently serving as the Diocesan Registrar of the Akoko Anglican Diocese of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion. In addition, he holds several distinguished traditional titles, including Bamofinlewe of Akure Kingdom and the 11th Mayegun Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba.
In recognition of his remarkable contributions, Dr. Ajulo has received numerous local and foreign awards and honors. Notably, he was awarded the esteemed Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by President Muhamadu Buhari, which is one of the highest National honours in Nigeria.On October 12, 2023, the Chief Justice of Nigeria named him as one of those to be conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), (an equivalent of the rank of Queen/King’s Counsel (QC/KC) in countries that follow the British legal system, a prestigious honor bestowed upon legal practitioners in Nigeria who have attained a high level of professional excellence and distinction in the legal field.
