We cried out about the pending doom but the matter was swept under the carpet.
Now it has grown into a full Python, squeezing life out of us all.
Justice Flora Azinge the Chairman, State, and House of Representatives election petition tribunal sitting in Kano raised an alarm of an attempt to obstruct the cause of justice with financial inducement. She in open court, stated that a Senior lawyer, is spreading money among the Tribunal staff and that N10M, was given to a staff, for the Tribunal.
Could this masked Senior lawyer had gone ahead to induce clerk and staff of Court of Appeal?
Can the Staff who reported to my Lord, be protected under the Whistleblower Act as he or she points out the Senior lawyer who is the cash bag?
All lawyers involved in Election Petition in Kano State, should be investigated while my Lord Justice Flora Azinge, should face a panel, with sole aim of getting her to mention who gave money to her staff and further made attempts to reach to her. This is the solution to the brouhaha about the abracadabra of CTC of Judgment in respect to Kano State Governorship Election.
Someone was compromised;
Someone was used to foul the system;
The Bar and Bench must work together to fish out this rotten egg, be it in the Court’s registry, the Bench or the Bar.
The image of the judiciary has taken untold uppercuts and punches to the jugular, so much so that if this brouhaha about this CTC abracadabra is allowed to fizzle without identifiable individuals sanctioned, I fear that the next scandal, will have litigants and Nigerians lynching lawyers and judges.
