Welcome Address By NBA Degema At The 2023 NBA Degema YLF Symposium.
It gives me great delight to welcome Guests and participants to the Biennial Symposium of the Young Lawyer’s Forum, of our great Bar, The Treasure Bar. Taking us through memory lane, this year’s symposium with the theme: The Young Lawyers Roadmap: Navigating New Beginnings, Transition and Growth is the 4th in its series since the creation of the Young Lawyers Forum of Degema Branch.
Upon the creation of the Branch in 2014, the then Leadership of the Branch deemed it cogent and expedient to have a Young Lawyer’s Forum that will serve as a feeder team with respect to the leadership needs of the Branch, this task have been jealously guided as the Young Lawyer’s Forum have lived up to this expectation.
With respect to the theme for this year’s symposium, you will agree with me that it is indeed very apt for Young Lawyers to be properly guided and directed as they navigate through the legal profession.
I am sure that the Keynote Speaker who has been a great role model and mentor to many of us here and the array of Speakers and Discussants that have been carefully selected to discuss the topics herein, will indeed do justice to same.
I must commend and congratulate the leadership of the Young Lawyer’s Forum, NBA Degema Branch for bringing us together to learn, unlearn and re- learn skills that will guide us as we navigate new beginnings, transition and growth.
