Bar man, give me my regular.
•My Learned Colleague.
Shhh!! Which day that start? Because I am drinking with you, you are now calling me your Learned Colleague?
•Che abi na Felix Ashimole, die that thing. Na Bar we dey.
Na out of respect I de respect you, is why I even called you Learned. That lawyers behavior at una CORNference, is there anything learned about it.

Mike, I will not descend into discussing NBA matter with a lay bricklayer like you.
•Che, I am a member of Freemason and not a bricklayer. Respect yourself or I won’t pay for your 4th bottle.
Mike, person no de follow you Apron wearing gentlemen play?
•Just de your de and keep the conversation civil, I may add python meat pepper soup to the 5th bottle I had in mind for you.
Mike my man! Wetin you say you won hear about the AGM of Lawyers held about two weeks back?
•Do you believe that the NBA President handled the mutiny by Exco members well?
Point of correction, it was only 3 Exco members that spoke up but my finding has revealed that, the spoke the muted mind of others.
•So how do you people resolve this embarrassment?
For me, it is simple. As simple as laying one block ontop the other.
•I hope you are not referring to me again as bricklayer?
Well, when you serve the Bar, the Bar, is expected at least, provide you the necessary ingredients to serve her.
Every expenses incurred by a national officer, in the service of his colleague and the Bar, should be reimbursed from the purse of the Bar.
While I understand the need to be frugal with Association’s account, it will be unfair for any national officer, to incur debt in the service of the Bar.From beginning of every new administration, there should be a budget, where what all will be spelt out. Even charity organizations, do cover the cost of participants to their programs and NBA, is not a charity organization and ought to do better.
The bragging that Mr. President uses his personal funds to cater for himself when in the service of NBA, is condescending and on the boarder line of calling fellow national officers paupers.
Service to NBA should not be determined by how affluent you are. I do not subscribe that aspirants to NBA Offices, must be those with heavy war chest or who while in office, must have the means to pay their way through.
There are legitimate perks of office. If the President chooses not to whet his beak legitimately and frugally, he has no right constitutional, not to allow others. Every worker, is entitled to his wages.
These officers, routinely abandon their practice to serve the Bar, the minimum the Bar can do, is provide them at a shoe lace budget, tools necessary to perform their duties in line with the NBA Constitution.
•Che you have spoken well. I hope you are not sounding like this, because you are eying national office next year?
Mike, Mike, Mike, how many times did I call you? Truth is, NBA needs healing and there is need to reduce the use of non-elected officers, to don elected officers job.
It may be tolerable to use NBA Secretariat staff as auxiliary to elected officers but assembling & importing a whole team of aides from all over Nigeria to cluster in Abuja at the expense of NBA, to do elected work, is a no-no for me.
•Che but Mr. President said he pays his staff from his pocket?
Yes, is he constitutionally empowered to do so? Don’t you know that these aides, get more political visibility and mileage, when the accompany the NBA President to pay courtesy call on VIPs?

•Now I understand why the 2nd Vice President, is not happy that despite being in the same FCT with Mr. President, he doesn’t carry him along.
Mike, na you sabi. Wey the python pepper soup nah? Is this how poor service has dwindled in this Bar?
