NBA Aba Rejects NBA Constitution Amendment

NBA Aba Branch, has resolved to vote against all the proposed amendment to the NBA Constitution.
This was the unanimous resolution of the Branch at the end of her August meeting.
 Members of the Branch attending the AGM, are urged, “to reject and vote against the proposed amendments to the Constitution of the NBA, 2015 (As Amended in 2021) in their entirety except the amendment proposed in Section 23(8) of the Constitution for not being in the interest of the NBA and the advancement of the aims and objectives of the Association.” That all members of the NBA, Aba Branch, should vote against all the proposed amendments to the Constitution of NBA, 2015 (As Amended in 2021) at the Annual General Meeting of the NBA on 31st August, 2023, at Abuja except the amendment proposed in section 23(8) of the Constitution which proposed an increment from 10% to 20% of the annual Bar practicing fees paid by members of each Branch of the Association to be remitted to the Branch. That the NBA, Aba Branch, shall urge members of the Nigerian Bar Association to reject and vote against the proposed amendments to the Constitution of the NBA, 2015 (As Amended in 2021) in their entirety except the amendment proposed in Section 23(8) of the Constitution for not being in the interest of the NBA and the advancement of the aims and objectives of the Association.
