NBA Nyanya/Karu Branch, was created on June 9th 2022. Her creation was part of the perceived solution to the then lingering NBA Abuja (Unity Bar) crisis.
Unity Bar went into leadership crisis in 2016 and kept producing factional executive officers until Ilorin NEC Balkanized them into Garki(Liberty Bar), Nyanya/Karu (Power Bar) and Abuja (Unity Bar)
While the warring factions/power blocs rejoiced, informed observers of NBA politics queried why Olumide Akpata led NEC would unbundle NBA Abuja, the second largest Branch and left NBA Lagos (Premier Bar), the largest Branch?
With 2024 NBA Election afoot, it is now clear that the unbundling of Unity Bar, was politically motivated, to whittle down Abuja’s growing strength and prevent her from rivaling Premier Bar.
With over 10,000 voters during 2022 NBA Election, Premier Bar will remain the decider. As predicted last year, about 2 aspirants are emerging from the Premier Bar.
Will they reap from this lump sided unbundling or will the 5 branches in FCT(Unity, Cradle, Eagle, Liberty & Power), amalgamate and give Premier Bar a run for its wig & gown?
