Caleb Owowo Petitions; Seeks Disqualification Of Chinyere Moneme Ekene

The rain of petitions in NBA Bwari (Cradle Bar), has become a full blown storm, with one of the candidates for the post of Secretary, petitioning NBA President as well as NBA Bwari Electoral Committee, alleging that the Ashu led Electoral Committee, erred and flagrantly abused both the NBA Constitution and the NBA Bwari Electoral Guidelines when it cleared his rival, Chinyere Moneme Ekene.
According to the petition, Owowo, Esq., incumbent Assistant Secretary claims that, “it is worrisome that the same Electoral Committee that published guidelines went contrary to the guidelines by its publication that cleared Chinyere Moneme Ekene for the position of Secretary, despite the fact that two of her nominators are not from the Eastern Zone as enshrined under 1,4,5 ,part IV of the NBA Constitution 2015(Amended in 2021). adopted by the branch in its general meeting since 2017. The two nominators of Chingere Moneme are Paul Daudu, who is contesting for the position of Chairman that is zoned to the North and Oririe Ehijimhentor Stephen, who is from the West. Despite this clear violation of the guidelines and the provisions of the NBA Constitution 2015(Amended in 2021), the said electoral committee cleared Chinyere Moneme Ekene and disqualified other contestants, who failed to meet up with the provisions of the guidelines and the NBA Constitution.”
He continues, “the said non-adherence to the guidelines for the election and the of the NBA Constitution 2015(Amended In 2021), is brewing crisis in the branch that can only be averted if only, Chinyere Moneme Ekene is disqualified, as the electoral committee refused the application of Rex Uzoegbu Onyekachi to release copies of the cited forms of the candidates for secretary and Assistant Secretary, as it is also certain that there are cabals that are hiding the evidence of 2021 practising fee payment of some contestants so as not to ascertain they did not pay to NBA Bwari branch, in 2021.
