The embattled Nyanya/Karu NBA, will hold its election on 9th Day of June. This is contained in a notice of GUIDELINES FOR CONDUCT OF ELECTION INTO BRANCH EXECUTIVE OFFICES 2023, issued by the Steve Emelieze appointed NBA Committee.
According to the Notice, interested parties, are to collect their nomination form from the 8th Day of May, to the 15th.
To be eligible to pick the form, which is free, an intending party must; show verifiable evidence of 3 years payment of Bar Practicing Fees and Branch Dues for years 2021, 2022 and 2023, paid before 31st March of each year.

Paid Bar Practicing Fees and Annual Branch Dues as and when due for three years, if less than two (2) years post-call -2021, 2022.
The Branch, was created on June 9th at NBA Akure NEC. Where will they get 3 years local dues? Against this nagging question, I reached out to a member of the Emelieze Committee; who pleading anonymity, explained; “you are to bring evidence of payment of two years local dues in NBA Abuja but evidence of your 2023 dues must reflect Nyanya/Karu. Same is applicable to the BPF. Without this, you will not be eligible to vote or be voted for.” Our source further stated that this was captured in the minutes of the last unified meeting held this past weekend.
Meanwhile, there is an Appeal by a group Nyanya/Karu Elders Forum, to NBA President, soliciting that the election should not hold. The said Appeal, had this to say of the Emelieze Committee, “the Committee has become the autocratic captain championing the crisis with vagrantly biased, discriminatory and provocatively subjective decisions concerning the planned election directly and indirectly.”
The Elders Forum further states that “Again Sir, should your good offices still have some modicum of confidence controversial Committee as to allow it to in the said Steve Emelieze, Esq. led go ahead to conduct election for the Branch, we shall be suggesting that the positions in the forthcoming election be zoned. By the immediate elective South West Zone and the South East past history o f the body as a Forum, the enjoyed their occupation of the chairmanship position of the Zone have both therefore be recommending that the body. The North Zone has not. We shall North Zone be given the exclusive right to take its turn at contesting for the office of the Chairman of the Branch at the forthcoming branch election.
This will also bring about the same effect of calming strained nerves and dying down the currently charged atmosphere of the Branch.”
