NEC has come and gone but the memories of Birnin Kebbi has refused to fade.
The beauty of rotating venue of NEC, was to offer lawyers the opportunity to see other parts of Nigeria, feel the rich cultural diversity that makes Nigeria a unique nation, the giant of Africa. 
This rotating, suffered a significant blow under the tenure of Paul Usoro SAN as NBA President. All NEC meetings were held in Abuja and this did not inspire enthusiasm. Abuja is a concrete jungle with very few native presence compared to capital cities of other states.
So when I got wind that YC Maikyau OON, SAN has taken NEC to Kebbi his hometown,
I was excited and nostalgic feelings caused goosebumps all over me. In time past, before Nigeria became infested with insecurity, I had visited the 36 state capitals of states in Nigeria, largely due to rotational hosting of NEC meeting.
Birnin Kebbi, did not disappoint. She opened up her self to us. True to her motto, State Of Equity, she treated us equally and we were fed until we were fed up.
NBA Kebbi the Equity Bar, took the hosting to heart and if not told, you will think they were hosting AGC. 
The Chairman personally had finger in every pie to make sure that NEC members lacked nothing and did not miss their flight.
The co-host, YC Maikyau OON, SAN truly showcased his state as the true son and worthy ambassador of Kebbi State. He took us to historic sites and visit to royal fathers.
Regrettably, the chief host, Abubakar Malami CON SAN, the AG Federation, provided all logical needs of the NEC but was avoidable absence but we did not miss his hospitality.
With fund memories of Birnin Kebbi, I long for next NEC Meeting and pray that it would be outside Abuja.
