According to Mr. Ashimole, after a sumptuous welcome cocktail by the Acting CJ of Kebbi State and the angelic rendition by NBA National Exco Ad hoc choir led by the treasurer, I lack words to welcome you, distinguished members of NEC to Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State, the home state of YC Maikyau OON, SAN, the 31st and tallest president of NBA.
Birnin Kebbi, is a lovely town, with beautiful narrow interlocking streets. Her people are hospitable, charming and witty. I urge you to make out time and explore her despite that Ramadan has come upon us.
Our Muslim colleagues believe that this a sign of blessing, for us to be in Kebbi at the beginning of the Holy Month. Against this backdrop, I wish all Muslim faithfuls attending NEC, fruitful fasting, may your prayers be answered and may your sacrifices to get an improved NBA that will prioritize the welfare of lawyers and like a Tiger, defend Rule of Law, no matter whose cow is gored, be rewarded.
Finally as you leave Birnin Kebbi, don’t leave any broken heart behind; compensate all adequately so that as you go home, you will not hear that someone broke into your farm to harvest your bearded meat.
