Beyond Presidential Candidates Razzmatazz Where Is The New Nigeria?

Between Feb 25 and March 11, 2023, new leadership will emerge at two levels of governance in Nigeria. Federal and State, that is, Presidential, National Assembly, Governorship and State House of Assembly.   Most Nigerians are fixated on the February election as though Nigeria is a democratic monarchy, wherein once a President is elected, every other component part of the kingdom, will fall in line, run their fiefdom in accordance with the will of the King in Aso Rock.

Lackluster underperformed  Governors, whose 2nd term is expiring, are enjoying this confusion as electorates are not holding them to account or showing any interest in who takes over the reigns of State House come May 29.

The Electorates are excited at revelation that Nigeria’s debt is projected to be 77 trillion by the time this dying administration of Buhari leaves office in May.
What were the contributions of State Governors to this National Debt Profile? What did your Governor use the loan to do?

The Electorates are hoodwinked and not allowed to see the above and know how culpable their Governors were in the rising debt profile of Nigeria. It is a lullaby to them, once Buhari is blamed and they snore off, without asking, how did their Senators, Representatives sleep off while the Executive had a field day.
Most Electorates, do not know who is representing them at State House of Assembly and why such should seek or not seek re-election. These Honorable members in the most part, are side handbags of the Governor, who changes the leadership of the House like an ashawo changing a used condom.

For a true New Nigeria to be born using 2023 election to midwife it, the Electorate must look beyond the 18 presidential candidates and scrutinize those who seek to go to National Assembly, State House and House of Assembly.
It is the height of naivety to think that a King alone at the helm of Aso Rock, will issue Executive Order and New Nigeria will be born or Legislators and Governors will become born again to birth a new Nigeria.
Politics and dividends of democracy are local, the Electorate to avoid disappointment, must look at which of the local boys are they sending to Abuja and their State Capital.
