A middle age Yoruba lady (named withheld), is battling for her life at Kubwa General Hospital, following a third degree burnt she suffered on Sunday morning in Byazhin Area of Kubwa, after her over five years Abuja marriage, went south. We gather that the lady, has been in abusive, toxic cohabitation with her Abuja husband before Sunday incident.
Sunday’s incident teed off because the lady accused her husband of looking outside and quarrel started. She feared that he will kick her out after sucking off her youth for 5 year and countless abortions, went into their one room face-me-I face you love nest and set herself ablaze.
The inferno spread to other apartments. Neighbors broke down the door and took the berbaqued lady to Kubwa General Hospital at Phase 4.
According to neighbors, the husband was arrested by Byazhin Divisional Police station and is still in detention.
Abuja marriage is cohabitation with no intent on both parties to formalize the union or do any native rites.
